Chaos and Clamor

While listening to the debut of the Greek artist Unciviliz, I could not help but think of the chaos that the Greeks have been living through over the last several months. Draft et Draft, on the Athenian netlabel Etched Traumas, is filled with anarchical noise. The entire EP doesn’t make it to 8 minutes, but that just highlights the immediacy of the music. Unciviliz begins Draft et Draft with “Steerable Monotonously Of Some Gongs” calls out to its audience to listen. Then it is the noise-y “Souvlaki Astoria Beatdown” filled with static and horrendous  synths (in only the best way)  followed by the chip-ish “Valhal Herk Jerk”. The album finishes with an almost dronish piece, “A Blotch of Glued Drones”. Draft et Draft is a short but wonderfully deranged EP filled with chaos and clamor.
